## What it calculates

Our currency converter online for 40 currencies works with the rate you enter yourself, for example your bank's or a currency exchange's rate. The rate is remembered for each pair, and the reverse one is calculated automatically.

That way the result matches the amount you'll actually get, and it works offline, on a trip, on a plane or abroad.

**Why do I have to enter the rate myself?**

That's how Calcie works without the internet, and you calculate at the rate you actually exchange at.

**Will the rate be saved?**

Yes, separately for each currency pair.

**Where do I get the current exchange rate?**

Take it from wherever you exchange money: a bank, an exchange office or your banking app. That way the calculation matches what you'll actually receive.

**Does the “Currency” mode work offline?**

Yes. Calcie does all its math right on your device, so the mode works on a plane, on the subway and out of town. Nothing is sent to any server, and the answer appears instantly.

**Is “Currency” available on iPad and Mac?**

Yes. On iPad the mode has its own layout with larger fields, and on a Mac with Apple Silicon Calcie runs in its iPad version and works from the keyboard. Your Premium purchase applies on every device signed in with your Apple ID.

**How do I switch to the “Currency” mode?**

Open the modes menu, the icon at the top left of the calculator's main screen, and choose “Currency”. Calcie remembers your choice: next time the app opens right in that mode.
