Cute Calculator

A calculator that's a joy to open.

Calcie started with a simple question: why does the calculator on your phone have to be boring? We open it every day — to work out a discount, split a bill, check the change — and it looks the same for everyone. We wanted one you open with a smile.

Inside are 238 themes in twenty collections: cats and frogs, frosted glass, soft “clay,” pixels, neon, a strict black. Forty-one themes are available right away; the rest unlock with a single purchase — one time, no subscription. A theme changes everything: the buttons, the digits, the font, even the sound of a tap.

It can calculate more than you'd think. Twenty-one modes: percentages, discounts and VAT, tips for a group, loans and deposits, dates and time, fractions and proportions, renovation estimates, converters for units, currencies, sizes and cooking measures. Each mode has its own tidy screen — no twenty-item menu.

Calcie runs on iPhone, iPad and Mac, speaks forty languages and doesn't ask you to create an account.

Our plans

More ideas than hands

We make apps for fun: we love the process itself — dreaming it up, drawing it, getting every little detail right. So we launch them as we're able, with no rush and no big announcements. Calcie is the first, but definitely not the last.

    Closed testing is underway on Google Play. Huawei AppGallery comes next, so the calculator is for everyone, not just iPhone owners.

    You'll be able to work out a discount, a loan or a proportion right here in your browser, with nothing to install. We're adding one mode at a time.

    The list is long and very varied: everyday utilities, something for the home, something for studying, a couple of toys just because. We want to try our hand at different genres.

    Theme collections keep growing, and modes keep picking up conveniences. A lot of it comes from your emails — we really do read them.

Who we are

A small studio with a big wall

We're FunWorks, a small independent studio. We make apps we want to use every day ourselves: simple, beautiful and a little bit funny.

No subscriptions for the sake of subscriptions, and no screens asking you to “rate the app” three seconds in. First it works, then it delights.
