What it calculates

Our percentage calculator online solves six common problems: a percent of a number, what percent one number is of another, by what percent a value changed, adding a percent, subtracting a percent, and finding the whole from a known part.

You need these calculations every day: a store discount, a markup, a raise or a price increase, a share of a budget, the percent of a plan completed. Pick a formula on the tab, the field labels tell you what to enter, and the answer appears right away, with no “=” button.

How to use it

FAQ

How do I work out how many percent a price went up?

Choose “Change” and enter the old and new price. 80 → 100 is +25%.

How many decimal places?

Up to four: 1 of 3 is 33.3333%.

How do I add VAT or a percentage markup?

Choose the “Add %” formula: 1,000 and 20% give 1,200, and Calcie shows separately how much was added. There's also a dedicated VAT mode that pulls the tax out of a total.

Does the “Percent” mode work offline?

Yes. Calcie does all its math right on your device, so the mode works on a plane, on the subway and out of town. Nothing is sent to any server, and the answer appears instantly.

Is “Percent” available on iPad and Mac?

Yes. On iPad the mode has its own layout with larger fields, and on a Mac with Apple Silicon Calcie runs in its iPad version and works from the keyboard. Your Premium purchase applies on every device signed in with your Apple ID.

How do I switch to the “Percent” mode?

Open the modes menu, the icon at the top left of the calculator's main screen, and choose “Percent”. Calcie remembers your choice: next time the app opens right in that mode.
