What it calculates

Our discount calculator online finds the sale price, two discounts in a row, sales tax, the discount percent from an old and a new price, the price before the discount, and the savings on deals like “2 + 1” or “3 for the price of 2”.

It's handy in a store or at a sale: you see right away how much you save and what the real total discount is when a shop offers “an extra 10% off already reduced items”.

  • Sale price: two discounts in a row and sales tax
  • What discount: from the old and new price
  • Original price
  • N + M deal: what one item costs and how much you pay

How to use it

  1. Pick a tab.
  2. Enter the price and the discount. The second discount and the tax are optional.
  3. See the total, your savings and the overall discount.

Example

100 − 20% − 10%= 72 (28% off overall)

FAQ

Why aren't 20% and 10% the same as 30%?

The second discount is taken from the already reduced price. 100 − 20% = 80, 80 − 10% = 72, so 28% in all.

Is a “3 for the price of 2” deal a good one?

Open the “N + M deal” tab: buy 2, get 1 free, and Calcie shows the price of a single item.

How do I calculate the price with sales tax?

On the “Sale price” tab, fill in the “Sales tax” field. Calcie shows the price before tax, the tax itself and the total you'll pay at the register.

Does the “Discounts” mode work offline?

Yes. Calcie does all its math right on your device, so the mode works on a plane, on the subway and out of town. Nothing is sent to any server, and the answer appears instantly.

Is “Discounts” available on iPad and Mac?

Yes. On iPad the mode has its own layout with larger fields, and on a Mac with Apple Silicon Calcie runs in its iPad version and works from the keyboard. Your Premium purchase applies on every device signed in with your Apple ID.

How do I switch to the “Discounts” mode?

Open the modes menu, the icon at the top left of the calculator's main screen, and choose “Discounts”. Calcie remembers your choice: next time the app opens right in that mode.
